Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plans in the Midwest

Keep Original Medicare and add a Medigap plan to cover the gaps. I help the Midwest Medicare beneficiaries compare Plan G, Plan N, and other Medigap options across carriers.

Who this is for

  • Want to keep any Medicare-accepting doctor with no network restrictions
  • Comparing Medigap vs Medicare Advantage
  • New to Medicare and inside your Open Enrollment window
  • Currently on Medigap and want to see if you can lower your premium

What's covered

Part A coinsurance and hospital costs

Medigap picks up hospital coinsurance and adds coverage beyond Medicare's limits.

Part B coinsurance

Covers the 20% Medicare doesn't pay after your deductible.

Foreign travel emergencies

Most plans include a foreign travel emergency benefit.

Nationwide network

Any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare accepts Medigap.

How I help

  1. 1Compare Plan G, Plan N, and other standardized letters against your actual usage.
  2. 2Shop identical benefits across carriers - the plan letter is the same, the price isn't.
  3. 3Pair your Medigap plan with a Part D drug plan that fits your prescriptions.
  4. 4Review your Medigap premium each year and re-shop if a better price becomes available.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Medigap and Medicare Advantage?

Medigap works alongside Original Medicare and helps pay the deductibles, copays, and coinsurance Medicare doesn't. Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with a private plan. Different tradeoffs on cost, network, and out-of-pocket exposure - I'll walk you through both.

Are Medigap plans standardized in the Midwest?

Yes. Plan G from one carrier covers exactly the same benefits as Plan G from another - the only difference is price and customer service. That means it usually pays to shop.

Can I be denied a Medicare Supplement plan?

During your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period starting when you're 65+ and enrolled in Part B, carriers can't deny you or charge more for health reasons. Outside that window, in the Midwest, most carriers can medically underwrite.

Do I need a separate drug plan with Medigap?

Yes. Medigap doesn't include prescription drug coverage. Most clients pair it with a stand-alone Part D plan - I'll help you pick one based on your medications.
